P for Project Perfect

I came across this idea and decided that it is a good thing to take part in. The idea was bought up by Amy at Flaws and All and I have seen it on a number of blogs since then. The idea is to try and see the positives in ourselves rather than dwell on the negatives. It is not an easy thing to do, I know that I have never been comfortable in pointing out things that I like about myself but I am going to give it my best shot.

Here are the rules:
1. Post a photo that you like of yourself and say in a couple of sentences why you like it.
2. State some things that you DON'T like yourself but say why others may love to be like that.
3. State 3 things that you DO like about yourself.

Here is a picture I like:

I like this picture as it is one of me and my best friend. I like that I am smiling on the picture and I love the fact that I don't have red eye which is always a plus. I like that my hair is behaving and has a slight shine to it. I also like the dress I was wearing when this picture was taken even though you can't see it.

Three things I don't like

1). I don't like my nose. I never have. In some pictures it looks too pointy and on others it looks really wide with big nostrils. I have always thought and I had a piggy nose and I have even been called miss piggy before now.  Others have said that they love my nose as it straight and has freckles on it.

2). I don't like my skin. I am really pale but I have red undertones so I could never go any where without foundation. I never tan and I have excepted that but I do feel more confident when I am wearing fake-tan. I know that some people with darker skin wish that they had pale skin. My mum always calls me an English Rose which others may like.

3). I don't like my stomach. I have an hourglass figure which I like and I know other people love similar figures however I would like my stomach to be a flatter and more toned. I am not overweight or anything so I know that some people would love to have my figure however since going to Uni I have gained a little due to eating more unhealthy foods and alcohol and I also stopped playing sports.

Three Things I like

1). My hair, most of the time. I am really lucky as I have quite low maintence hair, I don't need to wash it more than twice a week and it is not overly thick which is a problem my mum has. I also love my hair colour; I have brown hair but it have a natural reddness to it and I have really orban highlights which come out in the summer. One problem I have is that my family tend to go gray young so I will have to dye my hair at some stage and I don't want to.

2). My teeth. I moan about my teeth but I only have one tooth which is a little wonky and people never notice it until I point it out, so I have stopped bringing to peoples attention. I have never had to wear braces and I am comfortable with an open mouth smile.

3). My eyes. I have the same blue eyes as my dad and they are not too inset in my head. It is really difficult to get a picture of my eyes on camera as they always look a different colour. The blue colour works really well with browns and neuatrals which are the only shadow colours I like and wear.

No one is ever going to be 100% happy with the way they look however I think it is important to stop focusing on the things we don't like and start appreciating what we have.
