Summer Neon

Dress: Primark
Belt: Primark
Jacket: River Island
Bracelets: h&m
Ring: Topshop
Tan sandals (unseen): Miss Selfridge

I wore this outfit at the begging of the month when I went out for a meal with my mum and her friends for her birthday before ditching them and heading off to the dogs with my friends for another birthday. I had recently  just bought this river island jacket and was determined to wear it. I chose the simple white primark dress as it was a really nice day and it was easy to wear. I wore a rose gold bracelet with a silver bracelet and I liked the effect of the mixed metals and textures.

I just attempted taking some pictures for my first styling post which features a yellow mullet skirt. I am hoping that the pictures will turn out ok - I really struggled to find a spot in my house which has decent light and a plain background (such a spot doesn't exist in my house). I decided on the kitchen as that is the only plain wall in my house (everywhere else is blocked my furniture).

Collar necklaces to a jewellery obsession

Gold twist: h&m
Rose gold: h&m
Rose gold bracelets: h&m
Gold necklace: h&m
Sliver chain and bracelet: h&m
Dented silver: River Island

I have recently become slightly obsessed with jewellery, particulary h&m jewelry. I first got into collared necklaces after seeing the silver one in river island a few months ago and I loved it. So when I saw the rose gold one in h&m a few weeks later I knew I had to have that one aswell. So me and the two necklaces were getting on great and even enjoyed a lovely holiday to spain together.

Well after the lovely holiday I ended up in h&m again. I was looking at all the jewellery as I had seen the sliver chain and bracelet in a haul on Brabara's channel  and fell in love. Whilst looking for the set I found the rose gold bracelets, and I couldn't just buy one, oh no I had to get two! Well since I had built up my rose gold and silver collection I thought I better start a gold one. I was in a dilemma of which gold necklace to get so I asked my mum, she liked the collar with the twist the best, I liked the chain detailed one. So I compromised and got both. Yes I have a problem. I am currently looking for a h&m jewelleryaholics anonymous as I type, surely I can't be the only one who has fallen victim to the wide range of accessories available at h&m.

Now story time is over I am going to get onto the good stuff. I really love how these simple necklaces can dress up causal outfits such as white-tee's, plain dresses and I just love layering them under shirt collars. I also like mixing the metals which is something I would have hated just a few months back. I posted a outfit snap on my instagram and twitter (@beckywolly) a while back of me wearing the sliver and rose gold bracelets together and I really liked it. I would really recommend these pieces for a cheap update to your wardrobe, although I would be careful with the chain and bracelet set as they are magnetic so the bracelet falls off easy, I manged to break mine - although this is nothing new, I break everything.

* h&m are not paying me for this post however I feel that they should as they seem to have taken all my money in recent months :)

OPI Nicki Minaj Minis

L-R: Did It On Em, Fly, Pink Friday, Metallic 4 Life.

I was given these from one of my friends as I love nail varnish and Nicki Minaj so this was the perfect combo for me. I really like the idea of the mini sets as it is a great way to try out the different shades plus they are so cute and perfect for traveling. I was so excited when I first got this as they looked so small and I love the colours. I actually wore all four shades on my nails, like the picture, after testing them out. For some reason I think that they work perfectly together (with a bright purple on my thumb) and I couldn't stop looking at how bright they looked.

I am going to stop gushing about these now and attempt to review them.

Did It On Em: This is a luminous lime green and was the first shade I noticed when I opened the box. It is so bright and eye catching, it is perfect for summer neon nails. You do need to use 2-3 coats with this to get a good cover of your nail but I tend to use at least two coats any way so this is not a deal breaker for me but it is annoying when you only have a mini size as you don't have a lot of product.

Fly: This is my favourite polish from the set as I just love the colour which is a bright teal. I think this shade is perfect for any time and place. Fly had the best colour payoff out of the set as only one coat is needed. This is the shade that I would love to have a full size polish in as I am currently rationing it.

Pink Friday: For me this is best baby'bubblegum pink shade ever, I love it. The only downside is that you need at least 3 coats to get a good colour which can be a pain but it is worth putting on the three coats as the nail varnish really lasts on your nails as do all the polishes in this set.

Metallic 4 Life: When I first got the set this was the polish that I was the least excited for. I thought it would just be a dark glitter top coat however I was really surprised that it was a black polish with silver glitter. I really like the shade as it is a fun and glam black polish. The black is not jet black as the colour is slightly opaque however for once I prefer it as the glitter would not look as good with a darker black.

I think it is safe to say that I am a big fan of these mini's. I just think they are a great range of colours of good quality.

Guess who's back!!

It has been so long since my last blog post, the time has flown by. I mentioned a few posts ago that I had a ridiculous amount of essays to write which were due over Easter so I took a break from blogging as the last thing I wanted to do was spend my free time tapping away on my laptop as I would end up resenting blogging and for me it is just a hobby at the moment. However after I handed in all my coursework I only had a few weeks before my exams kicked in so I jumped straight into revision. I could probably have blogged during my exam period as I wasn't spending all my time on my computer however I literally wore leggings and pj bottoms while revising so outfit posts would not have been the best you have ever seen. The make-up front has also been lacking as I have been giving my skin a break while I have been stuck inside so I haven't tried any new products.

After finishing my exams I went away for a week with my grandma and grandad for a relaxing break and then I am headed back to uni for extrav which is a big event/party which each collage at Lancaster throws at the end of each year and then ended the week with the Stone Roses at Heaton Park with my family. I did take a few pictures of my outfits on holiday but they are not the best so I plan to recreate them with slightly better light.

I am really into styling at the moment which basically means I sit and look at all my clothes and imagine all the different outfits I could create so I think I will do some styling posts on some of my favourite things. I am thinking of hi-low skirts, stripes, neon and print. I am willing to do some others if I they are things that I own and wear if anyone has any requests.

I also got a really great response to my porefessional review so I will be reviewing more of my favourite beauty products as well. I am always really late on blogging hype and I think after the first few reviews people get bored of reading about products so I will probably be reviewing the things which I love that are not as popular so that I can share something different with you.

As I cannot have a blog post without pictures, I have a some snaps of me from the stone roses and extrav.

The Porefessional

I am sure everyone is familiar with this product as it has been famous in the blogging world for quite a while now. I got this for my birthday back in February and at first I couldn't really see a difference so I stopped using it.  It was only when I stopped using it that I noticed how much difference it had made to my make-up.

The application of my make-up felt much smoother as did my skin with this product. I do have oily to combination skin so I do need a primer especially in my t-zone otherwise my foundation doesn't last for more than a few hours. I have definitely found that my make-up is staying in place more with this product and my skin doesn't look or feel as oily.

The main thing that attracted me to the porefessional was the claim that it minimises pores. I hate it when my pores can be seen through my make-up therefore I was desperate to get my hands on this. While this product does not hide my pores altogether (does such a product even exist??) it does minimise them and I have noticed the difference. This product will be a permanent feature in my make-up bag for the foreseeable future.

One gripe I do have about this product is the price, it is £23.50 for 10ml which is a little bit ridiculous, I think that £15-£20 would be more reasonable. That said, I will definitely be repurchasing this when I run out as I really do love it. While the product is expensive for the small amount you get, it has to be said that a little goes a long away. On days were I am not going to be wearing make-up for a long period of time I just tend to put it on my t-zone so you don't need to smoother it all over your face. I would really recommend this product and if you are not willing to spend £23.50 on it then you can get your hands on a travel size in next months Glamour magazine. I will definitely be stocking up a £2 an issue.

Casual Clothes and Casual Hair

Top: Primark
Skirt: New Look
Belt: Primark

This is just a really simple outfit which is what I would call causal although I do realize that others do not just wear skirts and dresses everyday with boots. Both the top and skirt are really basic staple items in my wardrobe and together with the belt they are effortless and easy to wear while still retaining my edgy girly style.

Also my hair is in a bun! This is big news as I hardly ever wear my hair up, I always make time to do my hair before I leave the house. For the past year I have been curling my hair almost daily as it is my favourite style and I think it suits me the most however I have just been blow drying it recently and then not doing anything else with it so it is straight which is my hairs natural state. When I was younger and still in school I used to straighten my hair every single day despite the fact that it was already pretty straight, looking back on pictures now I wonder what on earth me and the rest of the girls in my year were thinking??

Anyway, I have worn my hair up outside a few times recently. I used to shy away from having all my hair pulled back of my face as I felt too exposed and couldn't hide behind my locks however I as I have got older and learnt more about skincare and a good concealer I have got more confidence to go out without doing my hair. I am still not sure if the up do is for me, I have quite a round face however it does make life easier if you can pull your hair onto your head in less than a minute when you have a 9 o'clock after a night out.

Little Bow Print

Dress: h&m
Jumper: New Look
Belt: Primark
Necklace: Tiffany
Bag: Vintage

I have recently become a bit obsessed with printed skirts at the moment so I have been using my summer dresses as skirts and wearing t-shirts or thin jumpers over them. I really like doing this as means I can get a lot of wear out of my summer dresses which we still don't have the weather for.

I have not really been up to much this week apart from revising. I did have a little trip to town today to get some spot cream as a group of them have decided to take up residence on my chin - lucky I have been stuck inside revising so I have been able to hide them from the world. I also got some heat protection spray as I am very bad at looking after my hair - I use a lot of heat on my hair and never use any product on it so I am trying to be good to it in the hope

I did also end up in New Look and came out with a new dress and clutch, oppps. I have no will power when it comes to shopping. My name is Becki and I am a shopaholic. In my defence the dress was on sale and the bag was just too lovely to leave behind.
